Would you love for Nicci to tell your family story?

I wouldn't go to anybody else, Nicci is a natural and has a god-given talent

A trained photojournalist, and having photographed over 500 weddings, events, families, and couples, I have the experience, skill set and knowledge to take true documentary photos that tell the real story and personality of you and your loved ones. I have a naturally creative eye, therefore being artistic, seeing things from another perspective, chasing the light and looking for pockets of light, creating dynamic compositions and getting down to your child’s eye level is how I capture life through their eyes. It’s an enjoyable and rewarding job, and I am a true perfectionist in what I do, but more than anything I'm passionate. You won’t be disappointed.

WHY CHOOSE ME

around and explore so that I can see them naturally, keeping them engaged and capturing their individual expressions and unscripted moments, this is the point in lifestyle photography. I’m always happy to give gentle direction with any type of portrait and even with family lifestyle sessions, I will generally take a handful of group photos, parent and child portraits and individual photos of the child/ children, aiming for a mix of a small number somewhat posed as well as the main bigger bulk of the images being un-posed and true.

They don’t have to be elaborate affairs, some of my favourite photos were normal, simple, everyday moments - captured beautifully and naturally, using natural light, which I’m known for.

I have a very relaxed style of photography and like to let things unfold naturally, encouraging children to run

HOW I

In September 2019 I remembered Ohana and I made the conscious decision to never be forgotten and to ensure I have a photographer capture our family once every year. Anja Poëhlmann came to our home and I am finally part of our story. You can see a few of our frozen moments below.
Don't wait until they're grown, freeze moments with your children now and create memories.

Ohana... I remember hearing that on Lilo and Stitch when my son was little (now he's not so little, in fact he's towering over me) - we would often say Ohana to each other and it's a phrase that I remember when it comes to family photos. When you look around your home, through your family photo albums and on your phone, like me, I bet you have loads of photos of your children... but how many of your family photos do you appear in? As parents, we take loads of photos, although it tends to be one of us that takes most of the photos. Of course, in my case this is me.

Family photos are precious to us, they are memories and are going to be precious to your children in years to come. When looking through these photos it saddens me to think of my children having no photos of me when I'm old or gone. Photos really do bring back memories, I have so many photos of my son as a child but none with me in them. Now with having a toddler and two step-children, as you can see in this slideshow, I've captured some gorgeous photos of my beautifully blended family - my son often missing as he's out with friends, and yet, again I don't feature in these either.

why i do WHAT I DO

Lilo and Stitch

Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.

OHANA MEANS FAMILY

The gal looking through that window into your world.
I'm mum to a 17yr old forensic scientist student, mummy to a 2 yr old climbing princess with goggles on her head, step-mum to a 10yr old flamingo-obsessed singing mermaid and a 7yr old footballer!
I should probably mention my gorgeous and supportive hubby who can not only fix the electrics but also cooks me delicious dinners and spoils me rotten.
Life here is an organised chaos, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
